This whiskey tour is rolling straight into Lynchburg from Nashville.  You can hop on the bus, kick back, and enjoy the ride to the historic and picturesque Jack Daniel's Distillery. You'll have the option upon arrival (or in advance) to purchase a Jack Daniels Distillery Tour with tasting or you can opt for the non-tasting "Dry County" tour (both at own expense). You'll have time to peruse downtown Lynchburg, just a 5-minute walk from the distillery, and grab a quick bite to eat. We've got some suggestions! Don't forget to stop in the White Rabbit Bottle Shop and grab some limited bottles of whiskey.

This Jack and Back tour picks-up near the 5th Avenue Korean Veterans Blvd intersection in downtown Nashville at 9:00am. Your guide will have a cooler on board stocked with ice and water. Feel free to bring your adult beverages of choice. The group will depart promptly at 9:10am for the 1.5 hour trip to Lychburgh, TN. The trip is approximately one third on the interstate and the other part takes you through the small town of Shelbyville, a town famous for the Tennessee Walking Horse. After strolling through Shelbyville, the remaining thirty minute commute takes you through picturesque rolling hills and farms into Moore County, only one of three counties where distilling was legal in Tennessee until just a few years ago.

Upon arriving at Jack Daniel's distillery, you'll disembark the bus and your guide will point you in the direction of the entrance to the distillery. Here you have the option to sign up for a tasting tour or a non-tasting tour (at own expense) if you haven't already pre-purchased.  The non-tasting tour runs approximately 1.25-minutes. The tasting tour runs approximately 1.5-hours. The tours are on a first come first served basis.   Book in advance. You'll have about an hour and a half to peruse the small square of downtown Lynchburg. Don't forget to grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants overlooking the square (at own expense).

Before you leave, take the opportunity to visit the White Rabbit Bottle Shop and purchase some rare and Tennessee-only bottles of Jack Daniel's or check out the selection of branded Jack items at the downtown general store. This tour will depart Lynchburg at 2:30pm and drop off at the starting point at approximately 4:00pm.

Tennessee Whiskey Tours gives you a generous pour of history, tradition, and ingenuity, from the rolling hills of Tennessee to the banks of the Cumberland. Whether you’re a native or just passing through, our tours are the best way to spend a day with family, friends, or complete strangers. We’ll give you a ride – all you gotta’ do is get your butt in a seat.

As one of the first states to pass a prohibition law, Tennessee’s distilleries in the hills and hollers basically owned the market from 1838 until 1933, when the 21st Amendment to the US Constitution was finally passed and ratified. Pa risked his life to buy it and Ma snuck it in her coffee (for medicinal purposes, of course). After more than 80 years of Post-Prohibition freedom, heck, some of these counties are still dry - join us for a journey back in time and sample the finest old and new batch recipes in the nation.

Itinerary:
Departure at 11am from Downtown Nashville at 250 5th Ave South near Bob's Steakhouse

Return at 5pm. The destinations on our Secret Sauce Tour are, well, secret just like many of the bootlegging operations dotting the rolling hills of rural Tennessee during our overly oppressive prohibition. It lasted about 15 years than federal prohibition. Your tour visits and tastes at three distilleries. We rotate distilleries, some favorites include:

Nelson's Green Brier Distillery: A family run distillery reopened after being dormant for nearly 100 years. The Nelson brothers are on a mission to bring back the bustling whiskey business that was once bigger than Jack Daniel’s.

Corsair Distillery: The most innovative distillery in town, Corsair won Whiskey Advocate’s 19th Annual Artisan Whiskey of the Year Award with their Triple Smoke. Ever tasted Quinoa Whiskey? It a thing.

H Clark Distillery: One of Tennessee’s newest distilleries, this quaint operation 30 minutes south of Nashville is the first legal operation in Williamson County in a century.

Prichard's Distillery: Tennessee Rum? Yep, it’s a thing. And a darn good one. Mr. Prichard makes rums, whiskies (both the Tennessee Whisky and Bourbon), shines, and liqueurs among other things. They’ve been legally distilling since 1997.

Short Mountain: It’s rumored that this Woodbury farm’s cave spring was once used to supply Capone’s moonshine inventory.

Nashville Craft Distillery: One of the newest kids on the block. This distillery takes a very scientific approach to their tours. It's owner and distiller is a former DNA science guy.

Depending on the size of the group, you will either be traveling via coach bus or 15 passenger van.  Bring your spending money and ID.
